Recently in some of the presidential campaigns aimed at
non-lawyers (there are campaigns aimed at attracting the support of specific
lawyers, but they are not relevant here and it is considered rude to discuss
them on the internet), people decided that they would “talk about race.” Everyone thought this was a good idea.
Strangely, nobody has actually talked about race.
Moreover, nobody has anything interesting to say about race, and our Fourth Amendment jurisprudence, forever intertwined with race and class, stayed just about where it has always been.
