CA1: Does the government really hate Phoenicians

Abidadoud v. Gonzales, No. 06-2509 (unpublished).  Petitioner’s is a Lebanese Maronite Christian, who formed the “United Phoenician Party (UPP), whose principal tenet is that the various religious and ethnic factions in Lebanon can peacefully co-exist if they rediscover their common Phoenician roots.”  Who could argue with that?  Well, his employer fired him.  He claimed a fear of future persecution, but he lost on credibility grounds.  Likewise a motion to reopen based open based on changed country conditions was not an abuse of discretion.
