Balaguer-Santiago v. Echegoyen, No. 06-1281 (unpublished) is a Puerto Rican political discrimination case. While there are many parties, all of them failed to present evidence that their employers knew of their political affiliations and acted with discriminatory animus. Of note is the fact that the employers seem to have decided to close various offices but didn’t engage in too searching an inquiry as to whether such offices should be closed. The First concludes that this doesn’t meet the plaintiffs burden.
