Legal research: computer v. printed digest

If you do 100% of your legal research by computer, then you need to read The Death of the Digest and the Pitfalls of Electronic Research: What Is the Modern Legal Researcher to Do?, by Lee F. Peoples, and learn the value of those quaint thing gathering dust in the law library: books. (Hat tip to Out of the Jungle.)

While you're at it, read (or re-read) Scott Stolley's article, The Corruption of Legal Research. You'll find it in the April 2004 issue of the DRI magazine, For the Defense. If you don't have your copy of the magazine, not to worry: just download this PDF file and skip to pages 39-41 (20 through 22 of 32) and 51 (32 of 32).
